Working at St Jerome’s was as much a social event for us as for the customers, we’d stand out front and chat, or out behind the back bar, which was definitely the party bar. It was in the thick of it, you were virtually part of the party. Many a bottle of Jager was polished off out there.
At one of the Christmas do’s we had at Jerome’s apartment Andy, his sister, placed tea candles all around the apartment after dinner for atmosphere. She placed them all round the base of their fish bowl to light it up. A couple of hours later she had boiled the fish.
